About Poorly Paws
Dog First Aid for Everybody
Poorly Paws began with a moment every dog owner dreads — an unexpected injury and nothing suitable to hand. When our own dog, Luna, sliced her paw on broken glass during a walk, we improvised with tissues and a nappy from the baby bag. It worked, but it wasn’t good enough. That day sparked a simple but powerful mission: to make dog first aid accessible, portable, and confidence‑building for every owner.
From tick removal and wound cleaning to bandaging cuts and supporting minor injuries, the kit is designed for the everyday emergencies dogs encounter — on beaches, woodland paths, moorland hikes, training fields, and even at events like Crufts. Its portability means it’s always with you, not forgotten in the boot of the car.
Travel Friendly
At the heart of Poorly Paws is the belief that every dog deserves immediate care, and every owner deserves the tools and knowledge to provide it. Traditional dog first aid kits were bulky, impractical, and often left at home or in the car. We set out to change that — creating a lightweight, waterproof, compact dog first aid kit designed for real life, real walks, and real emergencies.
Learn Skills
What makes Poorly Paws different is our holistic approach. We didn’t just build a kit; we built a learning experience. Working closely with Rachel Bean, a Royal Veterinary Nurse, we created clear, practical instructional videos that show owners exactly how to use each item. This combination of physical tools + expert education empowers dog owners to act quickly and calmly when it matters most.
Making a Difference
Poorly Paws has already made a meaningful impact. Owners have used the kit to treat injured dew claws at shows, support dogs hurt on walks, and even help animals affected by the war in Ukraine. Their feedback has shaped our evolution — from eco‑friendly refill packaging to QR‑code access for faster guidance.
The Skills & Equipment to Look After your Dog
Our vision is simple: a world where carrying a dog first aid kit is as normal as carrying poo bags. We’re continuing to expand our educational resources and are developing a first aid app with 24/7 veterinary support to further strengthen canine safety.
Poorly Paws exists to give dog owners confidence, preparedness, and peace of mind - because when you love a dog, you want to be ready for anything.
